I'm 40 on Friday

barring any accidents between now and then. Given the way my lower back feels I don't think I'll be going out risking moving quickly enough to be in any accident.

Today the Guardian has an interview with K.D. Lang, I had such a crush on K.D. Lang. Anyhow, I love how she looks at aging:

She is 47 and seems completely at ease with herself. She talks about getting older - "I love it. I feel happier and more content with what I have and who I am, and less - what's the word? Covetous. The older I get, the more I embrace who I am" - and how she can slip through the world almost unnoticed these days. "My public image is so low-key, but I get to travel the world and still have an audience and it's really amazing," she says. "I don't take that for granted."

I like the wording, being less covetous. I definitely feel less covetous.

Happy Birthday Schuyler! Welcome to the forties. Yes, there can be more back pain :( but I am finding the forties to be the best decade as far as being true to oneself.

I hope you had a great day with your family.
